Flower Copper ring

Some pieces of jewelry are so subtle that you forget you’re wearing them—until your hands remind you by a different sensation. I designed this ring for people whose finger joints have silently counted every working year—the flowers are detailed by hand, petal by petal, the pearl border is drawn, dot by dot, along both sides, and the entire surface is slowly worked so that the copper retains every trace of its shaping.

For thousands of years, people have worn copper directly against the skin, and everyone who later tells me something about this ring always says the same thing: their fingers don’t remind them of its presence as often anymore.
